Goulash, Yodeling, and Freddie Mercury

I just got back yesterday from our crazy 2 week European jaunt with Matt's parents. We did 7 countries, took about as many forms of transportation as you can think of, and ate more food than you could imagine. It rocked my socks off.

Here are some general (read: random) observations from our travels:

-Salzburg, Austria, may have jumped to the top of one of my favorite places in Europe.
-Traveling with parents > budget travel. Seriously, I'm never going to be able to go back to a 12 bed mixed dorm after some of the places we stayed.
-No one does pizza better than the Italians.
-Rental car+ gps that tells you to drive into a field+ stressed out driver who has never been to Europe=hilarity.
-Italy and Switzerland have more tunnels than I've ever seen in my life. I suppose when you're making roads through the Alps, certain accommodations must be made.
-Switzerland is beautiful, but expensive.
-Sometime you just have to do really touristy things, like take a carriage ride in Vienna. And there's nothing wrong with that.
-I went to a casino for the first time in Montreaux, Switzerland. It was everything I ever hoped it would be.
-I feel like an idiot when someone starts speaking to me in German, because I am in no way able to respond with anything other than "ja" and "nein". My German-looking appearance led many to believe I could converse with them when in fact, I could not.
-I was thoroughly disappointed when the rest of the people on our "Sound of Music" tour didn't want to sing as loudly or as exuberantly as I did.
-Food in Prague is heavy, but so delicious.
-I don't think I've ever been so happy to be back in a country where I can speak the language as when we landed in Barcelona.

Goulash is Prague

Yes, that was our bus.
